AT THE FIRST LEVEL ABOVE THE COMMERCIAL SPACE WINDOWS THERE EXISTS A 3' HIGH AND 45' WIDE BAND OF DECORATIVE CULTURED STONE THAT WAS INCORRECTLY INSTALLED (WITHOUT) A WIRE MESH SUBSTRATE TO BIND THE MORTAR TO THE WALL.THIS HAS RESULTED IN A CATASTROPIC COLLAPSE OF A 10' SECTION OF THIS STONEWORK WHICH, AT THE TIME OF THE INSPECTION, HAD JUST OCCURED. THIS UNSPECTION SHOWED A LARGE PILE OF STONE AND MORTAR DEBRIS ON THE PUBLIC SIDEWALK. THE RESIDENTS REPORTED THE STONE FELL 45 MINUTES PRIOR TO MY ARRIVAL. THE IS A HAZARD OF FURTHER COLLAPSE. ALSO, THIS VERY SAME BAND OF CULTURED STONEWORK IS AT THE PARAPETT WALL ABOVE THE THIRD FLOOR WINDOWS. DANGEROUS AND HAZARDOUS.
